July 3, 2013, Chandler Science Cafe: Sex, Murder, and the Meaning of Life

Cover MockUp.pptPlease join us Wednesday, July, 2013, 7pm, Gangplank, 260 S. Arizona Ave., Chandler, for  Chandler Science Cafe at Hack Night with guest Douglas T. Kenrick, Dept. of Psychology, Arizona State University, for a casual conversation about “Sex, Murder, and the Meaning of Life” (the title of Dr. Kendrick’s 2011 book).
Science Cafés are live—and lively—events that take place in casual settings, are open to everyone, and feature an engaging conversation with a scientist about a particular topic. Chandler Science cafe is presented in association with the Arizona SciTech Festival.
Doug KenrickDr. Kendrick’s latest book, The Rational Animal: How Evolution Made Us Smarter Than We Think (September 2013), co-authored with marketing professor Vladas Griskevicius, “argues that while our decision making may seem superficially irrational, our misjudgments are the result of a psychological mismatch between ancestral drives for survival and our modern lifestyles.”
